At BDS Dental, whitening is carried out under the supervision of a GDC-registered professional, using prescription-strength products that are not available over the counter. Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells bonded to the front surface of your teeth to change their colour, shape, size, or length. Bonding is an excellent option for patients who want a meaningful improvement without committing to veneers.
When a tooth is lost, a dental implant is the closest available replacement to a natural root. A titanium fixture integrates with the jawbone and supports a crown that looks and functions like a natural tooth. Unlike a bridge, an implant preserves the surrounding teeth and the integrity of the jawbone. Our implant treatments are carried out by experienced clinicians with a strong track record in implant placement and restoration.

We also offer same-day CEREC crowns, which are designed, milled, and fitted in a single appointment.
Using CAD/CAM technology, our CEREC system allows us to design and produce ceramic crowns, inlays, and onlays in a single visit. There are no temporary restorations, no second appointments, and no impression trays. The result is a precisely fitted, natural-looking restoration completed in one session.

In some cases, the answer is straightforward. In others, we may suggest starting with simpler treatments — such as whitening — before committing to anything more involved, so that you have a clear baseline to work from.
Most cosmetic treatments are carried out under local anaesthetic where any preparation of tooth structure is involved. Teeth whitening and composite bonding are generally comfortable with no anaesthetic required. We will always explain what to expect at each stage and ensure you are comfortable throughout.
This varies by treatment. Teeth whitening results typically last one to three years with good oral hygiene. Composite bonding usually lasts five to seven years before it may need refreshing. Porcelain veneers and ceramic crowns can last ten to fifteen years or more with proper care. Dental implants, when well maintained, can last a lifetime. We will give you realistic expectations for whichever treatment you choose, along with guidance on how to protect your results.
In most cases, yes — but the health of your teeth and gums must be addressed before any cosmetic work is carried out. Cosmetic treatments are not appropriate on teeth affected by active decay or gum disease. If we identify any underlying issues at your consultation, we will prioritise treating those first. This is not an obstacle; it is simply the right approach to achieving a cosmetic result that is built to last.
